Tackling Grease in Kitchen Grout Lines with the Windsor TAZ

By: Briana Smith, Social Media & Product Branding Specialist & Mike Anderson, Equipment Specialist, WAXIE Sanitary Supply

Kitchens are notorious for collecting many types of food grease and oils deep in the grout lines. Unfortunately, if this isn’t cleaned up properly & regularly it becomes a health and safety problem as bacteria and grime can quickly multiply in those small crevices. Plus greasy floors can easily lead to slip & fall accidents.

Oftentimes, even after regular sweeping and mopping there is still some grease that gets caught in those grout lines, and after a while your previously tan grout looks black. Talk about frustrating!

Recently Mike, our Equipment Specialist in WAXIE Ontario, visited a customer who cleans their floors regularly, but who was having a tough time with those pesky grout lines.

Square footage – this is key to have an accurate knowledge of how much area will be refinished. Varying finishes alongside individual application techniques can have certain finishes cover anywhere from 200 to 800 sq ft per gallon. Why Are Wet Mops Available In A Variety Of Fibers?

How to Choose the Right Wet Mop

Choosing the right wet mop is important to overall mopping efficiency. The determining factors should be size, content and construction.

SIZE
A wet mop should be sized both to the person who will be mopping and to the wringer with which it will be used. The operator’s physical size and strength should properly match the mop size to prevent worker fatigue and low productivity.

CONTENT

Can A Cleaning Equipment Purchase Be A Tax Write-Off?

By: WAXIE Editorial Staff  |  June 30th, 2011

Temporary law can mean HUGE tax savings for 2011 equipment buyers

The Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization and Job Creation Act of 2010 (TRJA) extended and expanded the depreciation bonus created in 2008. For 2011, it’s an unprecedented 100 percent; for 2012, it’s 50 percent.

Assume you buy and place in service in 2011 a new NSS Champ 2929 ride-on scrubber costing $15,641. Using bonus depreciation, you can “write off” the full amount this year, reducing your taxable income by $15,641. If you’re in the 35 percent tax bracket, that can reduce your 2011 tax bill by $5,474.
