By: Keith Schneringer  |  November 15, 2012

November 15

Did you know that November 15 is America Recycles Day?

According to the America Recycles Day website, “Since 1997, communities across the country have come together on November 15 to celebrate America Recycles Day. More than a celebration, America Recycles Day is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to the promotion of recycling in the United States. One day to educate and motivate. One day to get our neighbors, friends and community leaders excited about what can be accomplished when we all work together. One day to make recycling bigger and better 365 days a year. Get involved!”

15 Water Conservation Tips

October 11, 2012

Tips for use at home or at the office

1. There are a number of ways to save water, and they all start with you.
2. Some refrigerators, air conditioners and ice makers are cooled with wasted flows of water. Consider upgrading with air cooled appliances for significant water savings.
3. Adjust sprinklers so only your lawn is watered and not the house, sidewalk, or street.
4. Choose shrubs and groundcovers instead of turf for hard-to-water areas such as steep slopes and isolated strips.
5. Monitor your water bill for unusually high use. Your bill and water meter are tools that can help you discover leaks.
