On February 1, 2014 several WAXIE Tucson employees and their guests volunteered for two hours as part of the 1st shift of the MobilePackā„¢ for Feed My Starving Children. A MobilePack is basically when a business, organization, church, group, etc. hosts a meal packing event where other volunteers in the community can meet up and participate together. MobilePack events must have at least 500 volunteers attending with a minimum of 100,000 meals packed when all is said and done. Groups also commit to making donations to pay for all the meals that are packed at the event.

Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization donates dehydrated meals to missions running orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs in nearly 70 countries. It took less than eight hours for volunteers to pack the 100,000 meals at this MobilePack in Tucson! Participants bagged a combination of food items, which consisted of 20 vitamins and minerals, vegetables, rice and soy. The cost to produce each meal was just 22 cents.

In 2012, over 177,000 MobilePack volunteers packed approximately 41 million meals for Feed My Starving Children with events in more than 30 states.
