Stacy, along with several other WAXIE employees including WAXIE Ontario's General Manager Bob Gattis, attended one of the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer "Kick-Off" events on Thursday, August 13th as part of the Riverside Chapter. WAXIE is a proud sponsor of this organization.

Here is Stacy's recap of the event.

So many wonderful supporters and survivors showed up for this “Kick Off” event to support Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. The stories were heart wrenching and the statistics were and are frightening with 231,840 women expected to be newly diagnosed with breast cancer in the U.S in 2015, and that nationwide we will lose 40,290 women to breast cancer THIS YEAR. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women.

Hearing about how the American Cancer Society helps women 24/7 with phone support, one-on-one support, transportation assistance, lodging and so much more.

We listened to survivors talk about their journey and success of overcoming the disease and debilitating treatments. We also listened to a daughter read from her mother’s journal as she documented her journey dealing with this disease right up to the end of her life.

We all have had someone we loved or knew that was affected or is currently dealing with Breast Cancer, and if we can raise money to help towards eradicating this terrible disease then I am honored to support and walk for this cause.

Bob Gattis, our General Manager, delivered an amazing message and everyone loved our team's energy.

Looking forward to walking next to these survivors on October 4th at the Making Strides of Riverside Walk at Rancho Jurupa Park and to support the families of their loved ones who fought the good fight!!!
