Absenteeism has more serious implications as students reach high school age. Studies show that absence from school is linked to:

• lower student achievement
• higher school dropout rates

Studies show that only 58% of female and 48% of male high school students wash their hands after using the bathroom. Clearly, there’s room for improvement.
